Canon Rebel XT, XTi, or Nikon D40, D40X. Use the money you posted by whitepearlz on February 06, 2008 at 03:07 AM |

Kenrockwell is great site. Being that I use a Nikon D80, I would recommend that an entry level DSLR person either choose the Rebel XTi, or just step up on the Nikon. Reason being is that I was gonna go w/ a D40x but after reading a ton about it, you're limited on lenses because it doesn't have the autofocus motor built into the camera. SO, if you're looking for specialty lenses like fish eye, 50mm fixed or something, you'll have to MANUALLY focus... unless you get a lens w/ the AF motor. Basically you'll have a choice of some 12 lenses but none suited my purpose.
